Here’s a tip for the Windows 7 users out there with Office 2010.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, you will be\u00a0familiar\u00a0with the concept of pinning applications to the redeveloped taskbar in Windows 7 so you can launch them straight away without having to go through the Start Menu. What you might not have realised is that you can also pin recent documents in the jump list so you can open the straight away without a desktop shortcut or using Windows Search.<\/p>\n

All you need to do is open your Office document (be it a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, etc) and then right click on the application icon down in the taskbar. It should look something like this:<\/p>\n

You can see I already have pinned a spreadsheet for my tax records but I also want to pin the spreadsheet for my YouTube video stats to the list as well. All you need to do is hover over the item you want to pin and a pin icon will appear on the right.<\/p>\n

From here, it’s simply a matter of clicking on the pin to pin it to your list.<\/p>\n

Of course, if you want to get rid of a pinned item in the jumplist then just hover over it and then click on the unpin button and it will be a distant memory.<\/p>\n
