Once Bins is installed, you just drag one taskbar icon on top of another and a group will appear above it. Just drag the icon into the group and you have a brand new bin. To remove an icon from a group just hover your mouse over the bin and drag the icon out of it back onto the taskbar.

So far, I have been able to group my icons a bit into browsers, Microsoft Office applications, IM applications and music applications.

My Windows 7 Taskbar with Bins

Unfortunately, Bins won’t be free but is available for public beta for the time being.
