In some cases you may need to resort to a full uninstall and reinstall (or maybe a reinstall over the top if you&#8217;re lazy but I would recommend against it) but in other situations you might have the opportunity to run a a repair before going that extra step.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I found my installation of Office 2010 playing up (in particular, Outlook 2010 hung after being open for a few minutes) so I decided to run a repair. Under Windows Vista and 7, you need to do the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Start&#8221; then &#8220;Control Panel&#8221;,<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;Uninstall a Program&#8221; (or &#8220;Programs and Features&#8221; in Vista),<\/li>\n<li>Locate &#8220;Microsoft Office 2010&#8221; in the list and then click the &#8220;Change&#8221; button up the top,<\/li>\n<li>Follow the wizard through the repair process,<\/li>\n<li>Reboot your computer if prompted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Hopefully you won&#8217;t need to use this tip at all but worth knowing just in case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes, software gets corrupted during the daily grind and we need to undertake an exercise of repairing the affected software.
