Here’s a quick tip for tonight.<\/p>\n

Whilst the latest iPod Touch and iPhone are all the craze there are still plenty of “click wheel” iPod Classic and iPod Nano players out there that are used in the car, as a backup music device or a “hand me down”. Of course, no device is perfect (sorry Mr Jobs) and even these simpler iPods can get their knickers in a twist and lock up.<\/p>\n

Never fear though, there is an equivalent of the old “three finger salute” (or ALT+CTRL+DEL for those who are unaware of the terminology) that you can use to get things going again.<\/p>\n

  1. Make sure the “hold” button is disengaged on your device – failing to do this will prevent the next step from working.<\/li>\n
  2. Hold down the “menu” and centre buttons for five to ten seconds during which time your device should reboot.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You might not need to use this all that often but it’s worth knowing for the odd occasion that it does happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
