Sometimes, this isn&#8217;t convenient and if you have a habit of just hitting the shutdown button then your computer could take much longer to turn off than you would prefer.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, there is a registry hack you can undertake to stop this from happening by doing the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Start&#8221;,<\/li>\n<li>Type in &#8220;regedit&#8221; then press Enter,<\/li>\n<li>Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\WindowsUpdate\\AU (creating the necessary keys if they don&#8217;t exist),<\/li>\n<li>Create a 32-bit DWORD value called &#8220;NoAUAsDefaultShutdownOption&#8221; and once created double click on it and type in &#8220;1&#8221; as the value,<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;OK&#8221; and close the Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Windows should now leave your shutdown button alone from now on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another quick tip for tonight.
