Today, I had a new follower on Twitter under the moniker of “ReGadget”. As the name might suggest, this company is looking to buy old gadgets for cash like mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras and games consoles amongst other things. Their website is still under development at the moment (although their Facebook page says that the programmers would have it up and running in no time back in August 2010).<\/p>\n

This service would seem to work along the lines of Gazelle<\/a> which offers to buy or recycle old gadgets. There are a few steps to the process, specifically:<\/p>\n

  1. Find your gadget on the website,<\/li>\n
  2. Obtain an monetary offer for the gadget,<\/li>\n
  3. Send your gadget in by post,<\/li>\n
  4. Receive your money.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    ReGadget are looking to launch within the next couple of weeks and may provide an alternative to attempting to sell gadgets on eBay as well as avoiding paying for listings (and relistings if there is little interest). It’s also a great way to make sure that you dispose of your gadgets in a way that won’t harm the environment when it is very tempting to just throw them in the general rubbish.<\/p>\n
