Sometimes, it can be a pain having to crop your screenshots to get a particular window or a particular object on screen.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few tips to make your life a bit easier:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To capture just the selected window, hold down the Alt key while pressing the printscreen key,<\/li>\n<li>Paste the captured image into Microsoft Paint to work with the image,<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t be lazy by doing a copy and paste into the target document (which will end up being a bitmap image by default) as the resultant image will be larger than necessary. Save it as a PNG file first then insert the file into the target document &#8211; the file size will be much smaller without compromising on image quality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"attachment_1412\" style=\"width: 256px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mingersoft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Snipping-Tool.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1412\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1412\" title=\"Snipping Tool\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mingersoft.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Snipping-Tool.png?resize=256%2C123\" alt=\"Snipping Tool\" width=\"256\" height=\"123\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1412\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Snipping Tool<\/p><\/div>\n<p>If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7 you also have the added luxury of the &#8220;Snipping Tool&#8221; application which you can load by clicking Start and typing in &#8220;Snipping Tool&#8221; and pressing Enter.
