Making Split Payment Purchases at Amazon
Here’s a quick tip.
For one reason or another you may not want to use a single credit card to purchase items from Amazon but unfortunately their website doesn’t provide this capability. As a result, you may think that you are stuck but you do have an alternative.
What you can do is purchase an electronic Amazon gift card for yourself for the desired amount from one credit card and then apply the gift card code to your Amazon account. Once you’ve done this you can elect to use that as a funding source for your next purchase and have the remainder come from a selected credit card. You can specify any amount between US$0.15 and US$2000 but you may need a calculator to do some rough conversions between currencies.
An extra bonus for Australian customers is that you can purchase Amazon gift cards directly in Australian dollars so you won’t attract currency conversion surcharges. However, the balance will appear in the corresponding amount of US dollars in Amazon.
