Samsung Omnia 7 and Data Corruption Problems

Just an observation I have made when using my Samsung Omnia 7 Windows Phone since I have had it.

After upgrading to Mango I have found that some time after adding my Twitter account my phone seems to become unstable and I eventually lose all of my mail account settings amongst intermittent crashes or lock ups. It could take hours, day or even weeks for the problem to surface but it does eventually happen. I went for months without a problem by abstaining from adding my Twitter account but adding it back in seemed to cause the problem not much longer down the track.

I am still at a loss to explain why the problem occurs but I could only theorise that perhaps it is bad memory in the device or poor grounding when the phone is in a silicone cover.  There’s not much I can do to fix the hypothesised problems (apart from not using a case a risk damage to the phone when I drop it) so I might get a Nokia Lumia 900 when the eventually become available instead.

Anyway, I have restored from a backup captured from last month and will see if I can last until the Lumia 900 is released without another issue. Just a bit disappointed that for a phone built as well as the Omnia 7 that it has had these problems.

Update: As of 07/05/2012 @ 1247 hours my Samsung Omnia 7 has refused to update it’s People Hub, Me tile, apps with push notifications don’t push and my other mail accounts do not poll for updates. That’s less than two months since resetting.
