Know the Insides of Your Car

Maybe straying a bit away from pure technology but a worthwhile tip nonetheless.

Today, I took the Prius in for its 80,000km service which was also a major service (major ones are divisable by 40,000). Anyway, I was offered a number of additional recommended services for the car including a “power steering fluid flush” which sounds reasonable enough on first thought.

However, the Prius doesn’t have hydraulic power steering, it’s electrically powered.

Now I am sure that the guys in the workshop might of had a chuckle at the request had it gone through and that would have been the end of it but nonetheless it pays to know what is under the bonnet to prevent such errors from occurring.
