Flipboard – A New Way to Browse Your Facebook and Twitter Feeds

Another quick one for tonight (as I have been given the task of attempting to resurrect a laptop after water was spilt on it – I’m not fancying my chances).

For those of you with an iPad, there is a great application called Flipboard.

Basically, you can provide it with your Facebook login as well as people or lists on Twitter and it will create a quasi-magazine out of it. You can even do things such as respond to Facebook posts or tweets from within the application, “like” content as you would from the Facebook website and even browse the links and Youtube videos embedded in a post  without leaving the application.

It might seem like a bit of a gimmick but I don’t mind flicking through all of the posts and noise to see what might interest me. I really like how the application brings content such as photos and videos to attention – some people might be fooled into thinking you were looking at a professional publication depending upon the content you were reviewing. It’s made me realise that I should probably try and use more pictures in my blog posts that would be beneficial in applications such as Flipboard.

Give it a go, it’s free and you might actually find it will grow on you pretty quickly.
